The Healing Power of Words

by Barby Ingle

The Healing Power of Words to Millions of people who suffer from chronic pain and seek ways to find relief. Many may be overjoyed to learn about the healing power of words and how they can help those whose lives are impacted daily.

How can words and motivational speakers inevitably help chronic pain sufferers?

Word and motivational speakers can have a surprisingly positive effect on those who suffer from chronic pain. There is no reason to suffer alone – simply hearing the comforting words and soothing stories from others. This can release endorphins to help with pain and make it more bearable. Pain sufferers need to be advocates for themselves, and in doing so.  They can find strength within that they never knew was there. Motivational speaking helps sufferers learn how to develop the mindset to overcome their pain by not letting it control their lives. Motivational speaking regarding pain can promote effectiveness, allowing people to see exactly what they are feeling, what is causing their pain, and the best, most effective way to cope. It can cause others to be more understanding and supportive, affecting chronic pain management. Speakers who understand can have a considerable impact.

Psychological aspects of pain management

Many people keep the severity of their pain to themselves, and the psychological distress increases as the pain worsens. Sufferers need to remember that constant pain directly affects the quality of life. It also shows how patients perceive pain, How they control it, and how they feel. When patients tell themselves that they have the strength to overcome the pain they are experiencing, they tend to further engage in activities that can bring them happiness and improve their quality of life.

There is no denying that chronic pain is complex. However, it can be managed. When patients talk about their feelings, they often begin the healing process by changing their beliefs, learning new and trusted coping skills, and addressing the anxiety and depression that worsens the problem.

Words have a strong healing power. By openly speaking about physical pain, many find comfort in knowing they are not alone. Words can help sufferers distract themselves from the physical pain they feel regularly and can even help alter how the brain processes pain sensations.

Why it is important to share these stories

Too many people think that they have to keep chronic pain to themselves. They may feel that they may be judged or even looked down upon, which could not be further from the truth. It is important to share stories of pain so people can connect, letting others know that they are not the only ones who deal with pain regularly. By sharing stories, sufferers share experiences and boost the mood of others around them. People need to know that they are not alone and that plenty of others understand and have compassion. Sharing stories helps those who suffer stay optimistic about what they may be going through and increases their confidence and self-worth.
