Lisa (Sullivan) Coan
8/1963 to 5/2021
Lisa Coan, went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2021. She is survived by her son Colton Coan and joined her husband Richard, and both parents in heaven. Lisa grew up mostly in various parts of Illinois. She studied Paralegal at William Harper College and University of Saint Mary’s. Her legacy was always living life to the fullest with husband Richard, son – Colton Coan and even adopting kids along the way that needed the extra love. Plus, always making time for many friends near and far even with her bumps in life. Lisa was a beautiful soul filled with love for all, gratitude, knowledge, lending hand to all, ability to listen and show empathy when needed.
She lived with Reflex Sympathetic, Dystrophy aka Chronic Pain. Lisa made it her mission to start KC Chronic Pain Support Group in 2006, working closely with RSDSA Association from 1999 to present, Ambassador to US Pain Foundation, Oversaw iPain’s Midwest Pain Summit for many years, and advocating with KC Pains group to help change the way chronic pain is perceived, treated, and addressed by legislation. Lisa played a key role in getting the State of Missouri and Kansas both to recognize Chronic Pain in the month in September, and lighting up various towns in Orange for RSD/CRPS awareness.
In addition to living her life to the fullest she embraces the love for her animals and supports the KC Pet Project.
