What is Psoriatic Arthritis
Psoriatic arthritis is a form of arthritis that affects some people who have the skin condition psoriasis. It is common with more than 200,000 US cases per year. There are treatments that can help, but this condition can’t be cured. This chronic condition requires a medical diagnosis with lab tests and/or imaging. Psoriatic arthritis is a type of inflammatory arthritis. Many people with the condition are affected by morning stiffness. Even mild skin psoriasis can have a significant degree of arthritis. Accordingly, there are five types of psoriatic arthritis:
- symmetrical (both sides of the body),
- asymmetric and few joints,
- spondylitis,
- distal interphalangeal joints, and.
- arthritis mutilans.
